In July 2026 we completed a large project for a home in Thrapston: a new Kandla Grey Indian sandstone patio and path in the back garden, and an extension to the driveway at the front in an autumn-toned block paving blend.
A Kandla Grey Indian sandstone patio
Kandla Grey is a cool, silvery-grey Indian sandstone with lighter streaks running through it, and it suits modern homes particularly well. The new patio wraps around the back of the house, with space for seating outside the French doors, and meets the lawn in a sweeping curve rather than a straight edge.
Details matter on a job like this. Where a drain inspection cover fell within the patio, we fitted a recessed cover filled with matching sandstone, so it sits flush and blends into the paving while keeping the drain accessible.
A sandstone path through the garden
The same sandstone continues as a path down the side of the garden, giving a clean, dry route from the house to the far end of the garden. Our drone photos show how the patio, path and lawn fit together.
Extending the driveway with block paving
At the front of the house we extended the driveway with block paving in an autumn-toned blend of reds, browns and buffs. The new paving sits alongside the existing drive, adding parking space without replacing the whole driveway, and finishes with a neat edge to the planting beside it.
